The summer of 2022 has been the worst summer for us. We have encountered serious downturns and crisis in all aspects, economically, professionally, artistically, physically and mentally. In addition, the world's situation and the heat waves didn't help.

Thus, Velasco decided to do what he always does and the only thing he would love to do, GO OUT AND SHOOT PHOTOS. Photos of dirty walls, stinky streets, and the people who live in this grey city, Madrid.

He found a miracle. The elders, especially the grandmas in our neighborhood "Chamberí" dress to shine a light in this gloomy environment. He got fascinated by their outfits, the flowers, the patterns, the prints, and the colors.

So he started shooting them while they walked, they made shoppings, they stopped to chat, they held each others, they here and they there, in Chamberí. Eventually these photos revealed some precious colors to us and made us make our first photobook EL COLOR DE CHAMBERÍ (THE COLOR OF CHAMBERÍ) to honor all the grandmas who have taught us to bring colors to the world even in the dark times.
